Ted Stevens: Guilty On All Counts

By Brendan • on October 27, 2008

After three weeks of trial and only a week before the Alaska Senator is up for re-election Ted Stevens was found guilty on all counts of violating state ethics laws.

While it is unlikely the Senate will pass a two thirds initiative to expel Stevens, the verdict will make it extremely difficult on his reelection bid.

Senator Stevens can appeal the conviction and can also be pardoned by President Bush before he leaves office.
