According to journalist Jason Leopold, sources at former Cheney company Halliburton allege that, as recently as January of 2005, Halliburton sold key components for a nuclear reactor to an Iranian oil development company. American military officials, news organizations give conflicting reports of incident

A cargo ship hired by the U.S. military fired warning shots at two small boats in the Persian Gulf on Thursday, the U.S. navy said. The Westward Venture cargo ship chartered by the U.S. Defense Department was traveling in international waters when two unidentified small boats approached on Thursday. According to American defense officials, security members onboard the ship fired the “warning bursts” with a 50-caliber machine gun and their M-16 rifles after the small boats had come within “a few hundred yards” of the cargo vessel. After ignoring radio messages and a warning flare, the ships turned away only after the warning shots were fired, the U.S. officials said.

Some major news outlets - such as ABC, the BBC, Bloomberg (owned by possible US presidential candidate & NYC mayor Michael Bloomberg) & Reuters - immediately offered headlines linking the ships to Iran

However, the second edition of the story from Reuters removed the Iranian link from the headline and inserted the following Read the full story
